Not only all this, but our very system is rigged (not like in some conspiratorial way, but in a very real way no less) so that if the richie riches go down (as in SVB), they bring the rest of us with them. Our economy is hostage to the ultra-rich today.

Man. I am just starting a fairly long audiobook on the Federal Reserve called "The Creature from Jekyll Island." It's exactly what it sounds like.

I'm not much of a tin-foil hat wearer, but there are some legitimate conspiracies, and the fed in the US may well be one. I'm not saying we shouldn't have one, but the manner in which our central bank came about is just like so very American.
