I take solace in the fact humans have always been idiots and even I, the pessimist, am hopeful this current fever will break. Then, the techno-idiocy cycle will begin anew.
For sure, social media has just enabled idiocy and narcissism and we just have to be painfully aware of every stupid person exercising their free speech or whatever.
"It’s like we’re in a 100-story library and instead of picking up a book, we’re trying to fistfight the librarian."
You can see this on a micro-scale in my little suburb. We'll be voting on a $3M levy to shore up the operating budget of the city. Someone posted a newsletter that the city is paying 28% interest on their debt service, and even after the city rolled out reams of publicly accessible (and federally required) finance documents proving that it was actually around 2-3%, it is a hill people have decided to die on. Ironically, if this doesn't pass, the library could be one of the casualties.
Exactly! I will say that it has been interesting to watch this incorrect information rip through the city the way it has. It’s like watching every cautionary tale we ever heard about the internet come to life.
There were some Chads hanging around the ballots, okay buddy. Lots of traffic on the Informational Superhighway. The government is controlling the weather, say people in government, yet they can’t control the government because someone woke the deep state (which is not part of the lower 48). What you gotta do is find the ice wall, okay, then climb it, then you’ll find the Anunakii in Assgaurd. Adios ex machine, my dude.
Deep state doesn’t exist, it’s just a bunch of rich people and politicians who have a vested interest in the status quo all pursuing their own self-interest. There doesn’t need to be coordinated action because it all naturally overlaps. Also, I don’t know how anyone could have lived through Covid and think any of this shit is coordinated.
“Wisdom has been chasing you, but you have always been faster.”—and sprint in the opposite direction.
😂😂💪🏻
We don't let people drive without licenses, so possibly....?
That's a good point. Mandatory reading comprehension tests.

28% interest on public debt seems absurd on its face. Credit Card interest isn’t even that high lol
Thoughts and prayers to your libraries. That would be a ridiculous way to go.

“Gregor would’ve lived if…” So… something cool I wish I could write here.
