I'm really not so sure about the sham part, if I'm honest. Grilling with charcoal is not the same.
Charcoal and wood fire are supremely GOATed though
Taste wise, I completely agree. Grilling consistency/predictability wise (which can also affect taste), I respectfully disagree.
That being said, I like to cook one or two meals at a time these days, max.
I came to a lot of the same conclusions when I wrote about the show in my book "America 'Toons In", but you did it with less words.
Somehow I’m reminded of the classic moment when Bandit Heeler said, “I’m not taking advice from a cartoon dog.”
