13 MUST TRY Life Hacks to Achieve a Perfect Work-Life Balance
LinkedIn doesn't want you to know this...
My work/life balance rules:
I do NOT book meetings on Fridays.
I do NOT book meetings before 9 am or after 4 pm.
I do NOT book meetings between 9 am and 4 pm.
I don’t respond to emails. At all. Ever.
Mondays are MEdays. I tell my team I’m offline and immediately throw my phone out of a moving vehicle. I SPEND the rest of MY week looking for my phone.
I mute my camera, my audio, and my attendance on all virtual calls.
I KNOW when to say “no.” I practice this anytime anybody asks me to do something.
I PRIORITIZE getting 22 hours of sleep EVERY night.
I don’t do a SINGLE thing before I finish my first coffee. It takes me all day to finish my coffee.
I like to EMPOWER my team by having them do every aspect of my day-to-day job requirements.
I TEACH my team SELF-RELIANCE by suddenly becoming completely unreachable at the least convenient times of the day.
The MOMENT I’m done for the day, I disconnect... my router, rip out all of my wiring, and cover my home in a signal-blocking aluminum mesh.
Meditation.
The first two were kinda wishful, then it just unravels XD I loved it. Also, have you ever thought of bribing people with coffee vouchers to use in a virtual coffee meeting, or with actual alcohol in makeshift pub meetings? We're wild down here.
I wish I didn't work for a huge public company, I could maybe implement the first half of those. Although I should mention that it seems most of my fellow employees are already doing #4.
